Artists in Rehab
Emma Leigh Haase will be our resident artist this February!
During Emma’s residency she will be working on a number of projects including a collaboration with Maria Bezuglaya, her own personal projects, a public artist talk and a glass casting workshop.

This Residency is located in Palmela, Portugal. The workshop will take place on Saturday February 22nd from 14h-18h (4hrs). We will be making glass tiles similar to the sample shown in the video posted here. For more info about the workshop please visit the link.

About the Artist
I’m Emma, an artist born and raised in Columbus, Ohio but currently residing in Pärnu, Estonia. I work with any media that is put in front of me however, I specialize in glass. As much as I love seeing the results of my work, the process of making is really why I am here. Discovering new materials and testing their limits is the true fun in art for me.
My Process
Art Doesn’t just appear, a lot of work goes into the making of every art piece you see. The process involves just as much emotion and beauty as the end artwork, but sadly, it is rarely seen. I hope to shine some light on that subject…

Passing on information and knowledge is so important. I try my best not to keep any secrets about my process. Many people have a fear that if they share people will steal their ideas. But, for me, passing along techniques is what made art evolve into what it is today.
